Space exploration was within reach for students at 麻豆国产AV Fields on Thursday 26th September. Emily from the National Space Agency delivered an informative Masterclass entitled Asteroids. The KS4 pupils were fully engaged and enthused with investigating asteroids, exploring how much energy they have, and the possible outcome of Earth impacts. It was an action-packed session with experiments, demonstrations, discussions, careers information and the opportunity to handle space exploration equipment and real meteorites.

鈥淪tudents were thoroughly engaged in this masterclass,鈥 said Dr Sangar

鈥淭he presenter was exemplary in showcasing Space Science as a multidisciplinary area linking in the importance of biology in the exploration for life in space, physics to explain the maths behind successful rocket launches and the chemistry behind making rocket fuel. This was an exciting opportunity that the students experienced, and the outcome was seen by the successful launch of rockets. Well done to all of the students who participated.鈥

鈥淢aking mini rockets gave me a valuable insight into how rocket science works, it鈥檚 not as difficult as it seems,鈥 said Pranjal, Year 10. 鈥淲e got to experience the science at NASA/ESPA in our classroom, I would definitely consider a career in space after this opportunity.鈥
